This tour will take you to Karavasta Lagoon the largest lagoon in Albania. The lagoon is part of the Divjaka Karavasta National Parkland. It is separated from the Adriatic Sea by a large strip of sand. Karavasta hosts many pine trees and small sandy islands. It is renowned for hosting the Dalmatian pelican. 6.4% of Europe’s population of the Dalmatian pelican is found in Karavasta.
Berat is one of those places that you travel to a country for! Some may call it cliche, but the houses and windows deserve the reputation they have – it is a must-stop visit on anyone’s trip to Albania. This place really has to be seen to be believed, you'll feel you are living the dream.

Driving to Karavasta Lagood to Explore





Karavasta Lagoon is the largest lagoon in Albania and one of the largest in the Mediterranean Sea, spanning an area of 42 km².
Divjakë-Karavasta National Park covers a vast territory of 222.3 square kilometres containing remarkable features such as wetlands, salt marshes, coastal meadows, floodplains, woodlands, reed beds, forests and estuaries. Because of the park’s important and large population of birds’ and plant species, it has been identified as an important Bird and Plant Area of international importance. Among the largest in the Mediterranean Sea, the Karavasta lagoon has been recognized as a wetland of international importance by Ramsar Convention. Located near the sea, the park experiences Mediterranean climate, with temperatures that ranges between 12 °C in February and 24 °C in August.
We will explore the national park, take a walk in the woods, get to meet the pelikans. we will also take an Optional boat ride to get closer to the island and see the flamingos, the most interesting creatures of the park among many other

Afternoon tour of Berat old town and castle
The city of Berat dates back to at least the 4th century BC as one of the oldest cities in Albania and continually lived to nowadays. Artefacts discovered during the 70’s by Albanian archeologists such as Hëna Spahiu, date from an even earlier period such as the 5th century BC. The settlement was lived at that time by the Illyrian tribe of Desaretes who were the ones to built the walls and the city.
We will visit the castle (Kala) and the two beautiful old parts of town Mangalem and Gorica, then we’ll have a nice walk and free time at the promenade.
In the late afternood we’ll drive to tirana, stopping in Belsh for a nice free time at the lake and coffee.
